Impetus Welcomes its Newest Team Members and Celebrates its Anniversary.
This is a very exciting week at Impetus Consulting Group. First and foremost, we are thrilled to welcome eleven new employees to our team, including the members of our first-ever college recruiting class. The size of the class is a testament to the power of our internal Anaplan Enablement program as well as to the strength of the culture we’ve built.
This week we also celebrate five years in business. Impetus
was founded with the idea that there was a better way to do consulting; that we
could be a force for change in the lives our employees, our clients and our
partners. We believe in the value and sustainability of our collaborations and
relationships built inside and outside of the organization. Five years in, that
founding principle still guides our behavior and our decisions.
At Impetus, we believe the overall success of the company is
driven by its people. We have been fortunate to assemble, enable, and grow a
team of deeply curious, talented, and passionate people committed to the
success of our clients and each other. Together, we relish the opportunity to
support our clients to define and build the future narrative of business.
2019 has been a banner year for Impetus. With this latest
hiring class, we’ve surpassed forty total employees. We recently engaged our
fiftieth unique client. Earlier this year we were named a “Small Jewel” by
consulting Magazine; a rewarding validation that our approach to building a
firm through trust and credibility resonates with others in the space.
We look forward to continued growth of our people and
expertise and driving success for our clients and partners.
Impetus is excited to be bringing its special brand of enablement to Anaplan’s Minneapolis office. Impetus’ Karen Trainer, Wendy Wen, James Maloney and Josh Mueller met with members of Anaplan’s Connected Planning Internship Program to discuss what makes a successful Anaplanner. The program is intended to help foster the next generation of talented model builders by providing a unique opportunity for interns to immerse themselves in the Anaplan culture and community.
As an Anaplan gold partner with a proven track record for
educating and enabling Anaplanners, we were thrilled to be able to share our
stories and a little bit of our secret sauce. In the coming weeks we plan to
return to provide some additional learning opportunities as we do our best to
help shepherd the next generation of Anaplanners across the globe!

Impetus Consulting Group, a leading Anaplan consultancy firm, is honored to have been selected as one of Seven Small Jewels in Consulting Magazine’s February/March 2019 issue. Each year Consulting Magazine shines a light on smaller firms that are shaking up the profession from the bottom up. The publication’s recognition of “hidden gems” within the consulting industry places Impetus within an elite group of organizations.
“This recognition is a testament to the efforts of our team” says Alex Cohen, President and Founder of Impetus. “This award also provides validation of our approach to doing business. We are committed to establishing trust and credibility with our clients by being curious, pragmatic and delivering excellence.”
All members of the Impetus ecosystem- our clients, our team, and our partners – are mutually driven by a desire to experiment and invent by designing modeling platforms that operationalize improved processes, and free up valuable human capital to focus on enlightened decision-making. They are each trusting, generous and thoughtful advocates for the power of collaborative modeling and sharing knowledge.
Who We Are:
At Impetus Consulting Group we are invested in the long-term sustainability of the product of our collaboration and client achievement. We are convinced that the best solution is the one that allows you to focus on the things that bring the most value to your professional life.
A team of Impetus Consulting Group employees gathered at PS 86 in Jamaica, Queens on Saturday, October 21 to take part in the latest iteration of New York Cares Day for Schools. The Impetus team joined thousands of New Yorkers across the boroughs who worked in 38 schools to paint classrooms, restore playground areas, and raise funds to help New York Cares continue their year-round education programs which serve 30,000 NYC kids and teens. The day of volunteerism has become a staple of Impetus’ regular meetings in NYC where it is headquartered.
“Participating in New York Cares Day for Schools was truly rewarding,” said Impetus President and Founder Alex Cohen. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for our team to give a little back to the NYC community while maintaining a strong sense of perspective in this busy world”.
A team of Impetus Consulting Group employees gathered at the Nostrand Playground in Brooklyn, NY on a rainy Earth Day this year as part of New York Cares Day (Spring).
The annual daylong event is organized by volunteer organization New York Cares in coordination with the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation. It seeks to provide a positive impact on communities across all five boroughs via service to New York’s public parks and community gardens. Our dedicated group of volunteers removed debris, restored garden beds and painted fences along the perimeter of the playground.
“We are very proud of our employees’ commitment to serving their communities,” said Impetus Director of Operations Josh Mueller. “As a culture-driven organization we believe that we have not just some of the most talented employees but also a genuinely caring and well-rounded group of individuals.”
